1932-1946
Will and Katherine lived in Chica for long time. Their life over there is not easy. will and Katherine worked really hard. It makes Will feel sorry to her life. Will want to go back to USA and he talk with Katherine. They decise to go back to USA. In December 1933, twenty-seven years after leaving for China, Will and Katherine returnrd to Seattle. Everything in here it is more difficult than in China. They have to learn everything because in China they had to learnd to go backward but in USA They had to struggle to jump ahead and everything are expensive. In December 3, 1945, Katherine has something wrong. She awoke with a headacher and Will took her to the hospital emergency room. Katherine was surrounded by doctors and nurses. After that Katherine was pass away.

Civil War
1925-1928
The lawlessness and turmoil from the previous decade had grown up again in 1925. And it had grown into widespread civil war between South and North China. The south want to established the new republic and unify the country under one central government. The north controlled by hands of warlords who ruled regions. They punished trespasser and executed traitors and grew rich by taxing their subjects and raiding their villages and towns that why south China had to sent the Southern troops to North for conquer the northern warlords. When the war happen, The American Consulate had been warning their people in China to move out or go back to their countries. The majority of American and British missionaries were gone. Many people died between the war. In March 1928, three months later after battle, the Kuomintang took Tsinan, the capital of Shantung province and Peking, the country's ancient capital. The new government named Nanking as the new capital, and the warlord era seemed to come to an end.

Will talked about his wife. She was the kindest and most generour person. She always helped the people around her. she worked very hard. She just warried about her patients until don't have time to take care herself. On january of 1918,she get sick. her illness started with her old headache, abdominal pain and a high fever. her illness was terrible. It hurthed her too much. Will want to take care of her and take her back to USA. But the problem was they did not have enough money to brough the tickets. after that they borrow some money from a businessman. They leaved Kuang P'ing Ch'eng in March of 1918 and arrived two months later in Clinon.

Will was waiting for so long out side and Mo Yun call him, she called your firstborn is a daughter. As December, Katherine spend Christmas in Ch'engAu Fu with Edward and Naomi and their children. After that will, Katherine and their daugter, her name is Lily traveled to another province. But baby just born, she had to travel with the cold weather. It makes her get terrible sick because they didn't have doctor or good medicine. she had really sick a couple day and she was died.

A city that they have to go by cart for 3 days to the north of Ch'eng An Fy. Will and his wife took 3 days to Kuang P'ing Ch'eng-City of Tranquil light. They make decision to settle dawn at the Cheng chien. In the Cheng chien ,they have eating places,tea rooms and shops. The silk and medicine shop were similar to traditional store.They knew one guy. They help them alot. His name is Chung Hao. Many months later Will get letter from his mom. She said his dad pass away. At that time, it makes him feel like he really miss home.
